Exotic 9mm ammo - pics updated

Look at that...I learned something. So the SXT's with the brass case/black bullet have some collector value eh? Too bad I burned through 5 boxes a couple weeks ago :(

But then again, I DO still have 10 boxes left :D

No they don't!

From the Toront EMS web-site:

"When the ETF receives a call, the Tactical Paramedics, who are on regular duty, are taken out of ambulance operations and respond to the scene. Well-protected paramedics can then proceed into the situation under the direction of the Gun Team sergeant and under the cover of the Gun Team itself. The use of Tactical Paramedics ensures that the highest level of pre-hospital health care is both safely, and immediately available to the public and the police in an area of threat."

Tactical Paramedics enter the scene under the cover of armed ETF officers, their position is in between armed ETF.

why dont you stop being such a little ##### you dont need a reason to be proficient with handguns

The HN headstamp indicates it's from the Royal
Ordnance Factory in Hirwaun South Wales and was made in 1944. The guy who I got it from claims the inscription is Egyptian. The ammo looks "repackaged" - despite being in fresh little boxboard cartons packed neatly into a wood crate some of the rounds are sand encrusted.

That looks more like runes than any Arabic letters I've ever seen.

edit: sorry, you said the crate was inscribed in Arabic.

...and that's not a rune, it's a broad arrow according to www.municion.org

I picked up a couple more 9mm loads for the collection recently.

This is the more bizzare (and expensive) of the two: Winchester Ranger 100gr. +P frangible. Anybody know what the intended application for this stuff is? I can't seem to find it on the Winchester Ammunition website. It seems too expensive for practice, but a quick search on the net seems to indicate that this is indeed designed for indoor shooting ranges that don't have the backstop or ventilation upgrades. I was thinking "Air Marshall"-style lack of penetration, but I guess that is a fantasy. Any ideas?

This is just regular S&B practice ammo, but I had not bought any before this Spring. It was the cheapest thing at my local shop, but it is already totally sold out. Cheap ($289.99/1000, is what passes for "cheap" these days) will do that.

The frangible ammunition could be one of those situations where the civillian price subsidizes the police price - that does happen. The S&B that I've shot (45acp) has really nice brass, with nice tight primer pockets - great stuff for reloading.

9mm ?

I've been "collecting" different types of "exotic" 9mm ammo for a few years now. My collection has grown a bit recently. Here are some pics. Everything follows the same order except the last pic.

Anyone that has any leads on where to find brands or types that I don't have here, feel free to PM me.

I'm hoping to eventually put together some kind of accuracy, expansion, etc. comparison. That is tons of work though. Hopefully there are at least a few others out there that have an interest in seeing these pics.

Ammo is in the reverse order in this pic (taken from the other direction):

What kind of 9mm pistols are you using to fire all that ammo ? (which i believe you can never have enough of )

Damn now I'm hungry you *******

hey man, we could be doing cpr on people when they turn into zombies.... people have to die to become zombies, then after they become zombies we would have to "put them down" with extreme prejudice ;) ;) ;)

thats the great thing about being a paramedic, you can kill someone, bring them back to life.... and then kill them again, life is good :)

and where are my fruit pies biatch

Got some of this in the EE awhile back. I don`t believe this is the current packaging for TAP. Hornady TAP seems pretty uncommon in pistol calibres in Canada. I`ll take what I can get. Never seen any around Vancouver anyway.
