Experience with Dlask?

I tried to order a few LAR15 couplers from them and the guy was so rude on the phone I went elsewhere. He also wanted $12 to ship 2 couplers from Vancouver to Victoria.. Thats crazy.

Can't say anything about the phone call (I have always been treated excellently) but as to the shipping costs, depending on size, it would have to go parcel post which is about $10 + tax and surcharges (nevermind time on Dlask's part to package a couple of parts). If the $12 ticks you off (and believe me, I ship ALOT of stuff, and I think $12 is borderline obscene), blame CanadaPost

I have ordered a few things from Dlask now, and out of three orders, they messed up two of them. The items I received were good quality, and I had no complaints, but the pricing quoted over the phone, and what they tried charging my credit card 3 weeks later (when they got around to it) was completely different.

They also forgot my order on more than one occasion and I can honestly say they never called me with tracking information that was correct.

No serious regrets, but go in with low expectations, and you will not be disappointed.

Mike

I ship a fair bit myself lately as well, and the couplers could have easily gone in a padded envelope which costs way less to send.

Never noticed any problem's buying or customer service issue's with them. Ever time I had delt with them has been nothing but smooth sailing's.

If the goods and the padded envelope are thicker than 2.0cm Canada Post charges you parcel rates. The couplers are thicker than an AR magazine and I haven't paid anything less than $12. for any parcel in a long time. If you don't have a Venture card, you'll pay even more.

This is not USA where one can send a small parcel across the country for a few greenbacks.

You should have bought a dozen of them to make the postage worth your while and supported a Canadian arms manufacturer.

Slagging Dlask because you think postage for few couplers is too expensive is ridiculous.

For those who expect every e-mail answered out of the ton of stupid questions mail they receive every day are usually too cheap to make a $2. phone call.

What you may not realize is that all this 2$ petty gossip hurts the very businesses that are keeping our sport alive.

Dlask does great work and if something goes wrong, he'll make right for you. Period.

Try giving them a call sometime about what they have in stock or what some of the prices are... It's painful.

Well, maybe if people didn't talk s**t about them every post started on the subject, they might not have to raise prices for the loss of business due to cheap interweb commandos.

What easy said. Canada Post is the culprit not DLASK. A padded envelope isn't necessarily the answer. The PO will try to slide your envelope through a template with a 2cm slot and if it doesn't fit.............PARCEL RATE KA-CHING KA-CHING KA-CHING $$$$. It's like a difference of $10. I know too well...

Dude shipping with CP for small packages is buts.. It cost me 11 bucks to ship a case gauge from Bancroft to Toronto... Small package shipping costs have gone thru the roof

I have had nothing but great experiences with Dlask on the numerous occasions I have dealt with them. They stand by their products and have always been very helpful answering questions and pointing me in the right direction.

I think $12 shipping is more than reasonable considering Canada Post's rates. If the cost to ship was an issue you could have always arranged for a pick up with the courier of your choice who was cheaper....

I've had good dealings with them over the phone, not so great on the E-Mail end of things. They do stand by their products and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again. They specialize in doing what they do well. Great products speak for themselves, even if communication is lousy sometimes.
