I have one. It was easy to install.
The only thing I don't like about it is it is very easy to hit it and have the bolt slam shut when your not expecting it. Last year while hunting I had the bolt open and the mag out while in the truck. Brushed the rifle against my jacket, the bolt slammed home and scared the crap outa me. I wouldn't say they are a completely nessecary item to have and I have not bothered to find them for my other two rifles.

Much easier, IMHO, to just tap the release on the same side as the hand that is changing the magazine.
I must be doing something wrong as I change magazines on my M1A with my right hand not my left hand.
With the trap door open for support, left hand holding the rifle doesn't take much to do a mag change and hit the op-rod with your right hand.
