F.A.S.T Times?

Misanthropists critique is bang on. lol

I've got some P2000's at work with the LEM trigger, and it's pretty easy to get into the 5's with it.

I lose time on the reload just because I'm not used to the lever position. If I worked at it, I could probably get down to the same times or faster than I am with a traditional mag release.

I wouldn't put video of me online either, but you're probably safe getting Slavex or Misanthropist to watch you shoot. Or Tritium. The best and only way to get good and proper critiquing is to have someone watch you do the manipulations, shooting, reloads, etc. Without that, all we have is sound and holes in paper....

wicked

You've probably already thought of this, but have you tried using your index finger to drop your mag?? I find this easiest with non-P7 HK's - not that I have a ton of time on them...

blake

Finally had a day off to myself - ran FAST at the start and at the end of my shooting. I ran 7.47 at the front end and 7.87 at the end, but it's unfair to say that without mentioning the draw was terminally crappy - barely the semblance of a press out, ugly grip, lousy trigger control - these tests had it all. But it was from concealment (5.11 Tactical Patrol jacket) using a real world rig (Raven). Also in my own defence, it was windy enough today that the target, stand and all was actually moving while I shot - about 3 inches in each direction and 2 forward and back.

I was using the M&P9, wouldn't you know it on that range session I had my first "fail-to's" with the M&P - after 20 some-odd thousand rounds, I had 2 failures to eject. I don't know if it was just a very, very dirty gun, or worn out reloaded brass. Either way, I'm not taking any chances I'm going to put in an Apex extractor (as soon as I get it). Oh yeah, and clean the gun again.

It is indeed a shadow. It's got a lighter mainspring, flush safeties and thin grips, love it. I recently swapped the fiber in the front sight to green and it seems to have made a difference, way easier for me to track.

Brennan I love the suprised tone in your voice when you looked at the hits. Glad you have faith. Ran a FAST again last night at Slavex's class and hit 3.98 clean using the same (cheating) rig and a less ghetto 8" circle despite having masking tape wrapped around a slice on the end of my trigger finger, never trust me with anything sharp..

hey that top one was really close, I thought you pulled it outside the box. i need some of that fiber optic btw, that stuff is BRIGHT. and im still better than the people in the video/photo forum who thought you were shooting a .22 lol

coin is only awarded at the classes IIRC

well seeing Tim every week at the range, and having watched him shoot with a variety of ammo, and guns, it won't make any difference. His gun handling skills are incredible. I've also watched him do it from concealment, he will likely get a coin before I do.
And yes, Todd only gives coins to people at his classes. So if I can entice him up this fall/winter, we'll see who might earn one, otherwise it will be next year before we see the chance again.

so its 2 to the rectangle, then reload followed by 4 to the 8"? this video shows the correct sequence of the drill? and its from 7 yards? using concealment or duty holster?

Question and it may have been answered somewhere, how far from circle does the rectangle have to be?, I understand the rectangle to be 3.5 x 5", just curious if we are being that picky the exact distance? Or just go by eye of what seen in these vids?

I'll definetely do this test when I can get some time and stable weather, be interesting to see where a guy is at. ;)

Todd's official targets emulate the IDPA target, but he also made a target that you can run off on a 8.5x14 piece of paper. So the difference in where the two target areas are isn't that critical.
