F Class Nationals

Finally home and healing....unlike some who have stayed on for the entire CFRC (masochists) :)
Just a few comments before I head back to bed..
Again my sincerest Congratulations to ALL who won and to ALL who attended and an additional Hoorah to friends Will and Marius on their "Chairing".
A special shout out to Kevin and Will who, after shooting all day in the Americas Match with us,drove ALL night to start shooting first thing Thursday morning.!!
As this was the FIRST ever Canadian Fclass National Championship,I was truly happy not only to be a participant, but to really see and meet shooters from right across Canada and to a SELLOUT crowd in attendance.
This was one heck of a great group of people .Being able to revisit with old friends and even better ,be able to meet new ones made the effort even more worthwhile. To me the social aspect was just as great a time as shooting on a world class range. So much better face to face than some email, twitter, blog high tech stuff.
Connaught lived up to it reputation of providing challenging conditions and realizations
of how much we've yet to learn.:)
Was kinda hoping we could have gotten an entire GROUP pic of us all so that a hundred years from now we would have that #1 FCNC group.
As to the Future...F ers have asked for changes and the DCRA and PRA's are listening and doing. For those who attended, please take the time to write to Daniel and the DCRA with input on what went right and what could use some tweeking for the future matches.
For those who couldn't attend, this is a great opportunity to consider planning to attend in the years ahead.
And as a final thought....Thanks for posting pics as I killed my camera in Perry.Hopefully others will have some more to add to the collection.
Regards
Gord O

Berger 185 BTLR .050 jump.
Laupa brass (non-palma), Virgin or fireformed, 2 thou neck tension.
CCI BR2
Varget (however much you need to get it to 2830ish) Brass will be ruined in 1 firing. Your chamber/action may not be able to run this pressure, please work up slowly.

Best regards,
Chou brothers

Some people in life get curves, Jacob handles the curve he has had to deal with very well, and a can read wind with the best, when his F class rifle is finished he will be a top contender. He has a great Friend & Partner in Olivia
Sorry I did not post this picture with others, we complain at paying 300+ for a trigger, Jacobs is 2k +

Anyone have any info on what calibers the top open folks were shooting and what bullets the top ftr guys were firing?

i finished 3rd at the FTR grand aggregate and was shooting a 200gr hybrid pushed by N150. Marius is shooting a 284 shehane with Berger 180gr.

BTW, i've quit smoking this last winter and gained about 25 pounds, maybe that can help to jam the crosshair :)

the 185 mainly used is the BTLR as this bullets is SO forgiving regarding seating depth AND powder charge. This is, by far, the easiest bullet to load.

That is absolutely terrific. I would love to meet him some day.

Well I can only hope Lapua is listening, but for now I have great support from Peter at Hirsch precision.

Indeed the BAT are strong, I never imagined them to take that kind of pressure. However shooting those load in the rain was kinda iffy, I had some primers that actually fell into my lug seats upon extraction, I had to shake it out during the shoot-off at the America match.

I think I'll back off next time.

as for the Chow brothers loosen primer pockets. i would be curious to see what the base of there chamber size it. If i had to guess i would think it would be in th 4714, 472 area Lapua brass is .4690- 4695 running full tilt loads expand the base of the cases beyond the spring back rate and you end up getting loose pockets.

and congrats to the winners both the will/kevin and marius are class acts. (did i say that out loud).

Steve is shooting the Sierra Palma #2156 and Fred is also shooting the 185BTLR at 2730fps with Varget. Steve shoot 8208XBR. Same elevation ALL summer long with same powder lot. That confirm this powder is not temp sensitive at all....

nothing to be shy of FTR !

i saw someone with HBN on is bullet in a 308 ??!!! Wonder what type of powder he use to gain back the pressure lost with the restricted volume of a 308 case. Most be jam pack in there...

H4895 - lots of room in the case still (running Winchester brass).

now i understand. By changing the case you got more internal volume. How do primer pocket loosen up with those Win cases ? I'm not used to those case.
