F Class Tube Gun build (heavy pic)

Timing is everything

Was chatting with Kevin and he's trying to keep up with orders.I would suggest that if you wanted a kit say for the end of fall to build up over winter, drop Kevin a note and get your name on list and tell him approx. when you would like delivery. That way when the time comes there will be a kit with your name on it ready to go.I don't think he'll want deposit cause these kits go too fast when
run is done.
Just tell him I told you to call and that you want the "Canadian Special" (hell they are ALL black and now I gotta paint mine to look different).Just ordered some Armacoat to see what I can do.
Watch the ranges this summer. They'll be a few more of these out there.

Gord
Here's a couple more pic of earlier tubes before starting mods

R5

I've not had an R5 in hand and had looked at his design on the net as a possible build.
Couple of things that I found...The R5 uses a a proprietary magazine design. It looks like it works very well for the BR cartridge but the MAK uses an AI mag more suitable to my needs.
The MAK uses an AR buffer tube for rear butstock mount allowing for MANY butstock configurations.I'm not sure but Gary's looks like it uses his own dedicated design.
Hi kit appears to be very well made but I chose MAK .Well made ,well priced and very adaptable.
Drop Kevin or Gary a note and they could probably tell you more about differences. The concept though stays the same.

LA still in development stage having bugs worked out and tooling set up.
Winter projects for the boys.
Repeater kit I built at EOS has now been tuned, tweeked and shooting very well.
Still all black though.I need to find a good rifle painter to come up with a nice color scheme in Armacoat/Duracoat/Ceracoat?
I tried my hand at it on MAK/PGW/2 and found to much of PITA to try and paint in house in winter.
If anyone out there works with this stuff and is set up to do it professionally
I can send some pics of repeater and we can chat about a color /design pattern .
Chatted with Kevin(at MAK) and kits are generally available in short order.I'm afraid wrong sided bolt kits are history unless a large order comes in for them.
As soon as proto of LA kit/rifle is built and tested ,I'll post pics.

Thanks Craig
The R tubes are primarily a TR build off a Barnard action and are very nice but do not have the same butstock configuration for AR style stocks. All in all both give an AR style feel to a built rifle.I think we'll be seeing more of this type on the mounds this summer.

I'm a kinda old school when it comes to match rifles, I like wood.
BUT, I gotta tell ya, that is one SKOOKUM (tech term) looking rifle!!:dancingbanana:
I've always been interested in a tube gun build, and the kid may make a bag rider this year.....

It doesn't take much to mirror a CNC program to make wrong sided parts for the south-pawed.

can one have a fast detach stock on one to make a sort LTR barreled gun fit in a smaller case?

Jamie,
Quick detach butstock was one of the first mods I did . When 30" barrel screwed on it's too long for long case and I wanted make it fit rather than cutting a hole in case and let the barrel hang out( a problem faced by most 30plus barreled rifles) 2 thumsbcrews and detach entire backend 10 sec job.
Fold overs are just too thick and detach works best IMHO.The entire rifle has been made for easy takedown and switch out of barrels, forends, scopes, grips and butstocks so that it can be "mission specific".

Tom ,which is easier-mirror a CNC program or just teach Terry some right mindedness ??

Terry, have you been able to get more of those left handed bullets that worked so well last year?Thought I saw Sinclair was going to start selling them.

Are these gun capable of shooting sub-MOA and what kind of goup do you guys get at 1000 yards with them?

Thanks

The MAK kit is just another style of stock and end results as to accuracy is a matter what's put in it.
Capable of taking any SA Rem 700 off the shelf, machine off lug and drop in or
start with a Rem action ,blueprint, add custom barrel, good trigger and decent reloads and knock yourself out.
I prefer (enjoy) shooting this style stock vs traditional.
(ABsoluuutly Nothing wrong with Traditional) but I like experimenting and this set up lends itself to multiple mods and customization.
