I handled all three, and the action of the Fabarm blows the other two away. Of course the price does too...
If you want a cheap, solid, shotgun buy a Remmy or a Moss, if you want a smooth and tight unit that will make your buddies drool, buy a Fab.
Holy jumpin jehosephat! Smooth and tight?!? Cheap and solid?!? Me thinks you the king of dooby smoking. While the fabs are beautiful and well made, the 870 Police and MM, and the 590s are the cats ass. Smooth and tight as your sister. My MM has no play in it what so ever and is smooth as glass. Crisp trigger break, smoooooth action and reliability as good as any.
I've played with Fabarms, Mossbergs and Remmys. The 870 police and MM are king. The fabarms are a very nice gun, an quite a step above the 500s, and 870 express models. I would even say they are almost on par with the police. The marine Mags though while admittedly glow in the dark with the shiny nickel are the finest pump shotguns I have ever used. They take a serious beating, have better waterproofing than any other. A supremely strong mag string, with an extended mag. The nickel plating alone makes it worth more than all the others, even all the other "marine coats".
Based on nine's photos and reviews I was originally set on the fabarms. Also my experience with those of a few friends fabarms left me impressed but not altogether convinced. Having used all three, I would probably go for the 870s MM and the 590 A1. I'm also quite partial to the 590A1 top tang safety, loading gate and the lie, if they offered it with a nickel coating I would own one of those too.
Honestly, you wont go wrong with a fabarm proforces. One of the finest shotguns every made. I'm just suggesting that you try the 870 police and the 590A1 as well. Then make an informed decision.
While I choose an 870MM, I have no regrets and am supresmely impressed with the firearm. If I were to buy a second I would get the 590 A1. The fabarm came in third.
