Factory 7mm STW

Not that I'm looking for one....I've got one but a buddy and I were talking about this last night and it got me wondering if anyone still offered it.......I haven't been able to find a factory chambering in yet! Hate to see the old girl die!

It will probably be re-introduced with some snazzy new name in the attempt to capture a share of the market.

It worked for the 7mm Express Remington & .244 Reminton

I doubt that it will die off,as there are still many people shooting it.Many people prefer the 7mmstw over the 7mmRUM.

It will never totally die that's for sure but as the market is driven by factory chamberings and factory ammo.......it could kind of become the gun of basement gun geeks.......I think the short mag rage had a lot to do with the loss of popularity of long cartridges like the STW. That and it wasn't proprietary to one of the major gun/ammo manufacturers.

I agree, many people have been led to believe that the WSMs are more accurate in hunting rifles, and shoot flatter than the longer cased cartridges.Winchester and Browning did a great job using misleading ballistics while marketing the WSMs,and the result has been a loss in popularity of the longer cased cartridges.

Don't forget reduced recoil and considerably lighter too......lol

Sure, burst my bubble! Ya, I was disappointed to see that the mainstream players had forgot about it........

Seems like there is nothing wrong with the STW , unless you want to shoot 10,000 rounds through your barrel or use a short/medium
action, however, the majors are all pushing their own new 7mm's. Just my opinion, of course. ;)
