OMG, I can't believe it, in a moment of weakness I seem to have paid a deposit for a G19 TB of my own...!!!!!!!!! Eeek!
First polymer pistol (and only my second total), first Glock, first threaded-barrel, first online order... lots of firsts!
I'm taking a bit of a chance here, since I don't think I've ever seen a 19 in the flesh. But even a total newbie like me is sensing from the comments that these Glocks are a little different and special, and that a 19 is harder to come by than Gen3 or Gen4 17s because of the prohibited barrel length. Is that true, are 19s trickier to obtain in Canada? 17s seems common around here, which may be part of the allure of the 19 (something a little different, especially with the factory TB). I figure if I like this one, I can always pick up a 17 later.
There is something cool about it being an Austrian Glock, since the ones I've looked at in person have all been American. Is there a difference?
Is it possible to get spare magazines for the 19, are they common? And how many mags will accompany this 19 TB? I thought that had been answered somewhere but I can't find the post anymore.
(Edit: Ok, pls ignore this last question, I reread the post... and found the "Edit" feature...)
The TB does seem kinda neat, especially if its length brings the 19 into restricted territory. Is there anything interesting and
legal that I can thread on the end of the 19, just for laughs 'n giggles at the range? I'm not sure what the TB is for, besides a suppressor, which I don't want/need since this girl is most definitely staying on the law-abiding side of things!
Finally, what about the G17L? Seems like they have their fans, and they look super cool if slightly weird from the photos I've seen... Any thoughts?
If someone had told me a year ago that I would have a RPAL and would be ordering Glocks online, I would've told them they were crazy... and yet, here I am! I can already feel that this could become a terrible addiction...
