Fake LaRue, Magpul, and Knight's accessories

You want to be careful with these Airsofty replica pieces of kit when attached to REAL firearms ...
as evidenced by my recent torture testing of a cheap Aimpoint T1 Micro sight clone.

I could easily have injured an eye when the sight flew off due to the massive recoil of my .357 Sig Glock ... after only three shots.

There are a few different T1 Micro clones out there, usually about $ 80 on EBAY. These are mostly from Hong Kong resellers, made in China, AIRSOFT quality stuff.

There is one T1 Micro clone that has ONLY a red reticle [ as opposed to the ones with BOTH red and green ] and this version is externally a near perfect copy of the Aimpoint T1 [ it even ships with a perfect copy of the Aimpoint T1 manual ] This one has a body that is made of VERY SOFT alloy. It seems to have recoil resistant electronics, as shown by the fact that it still works after flying eight feet over my shoulder, and bouncing around on the concrete for a bit.

However,
after three shots from my .357 SIG Glock, the screws holding the base to the sight body came apart. The threaded holes were not actually stripped ... just peened oval, and the screw holes got big enough that the screws let loose.

I've epoxied the body to the base, and will continue testing.

PS: some of these T1 clones are offered with a clone LARUE T1 mount. The Larue mount clone is exceptionally well made, and once again a near perfect copy [ but probably made from softer alloy ].

I plan to use my Raimpoint T1 and Rarue mount on a dedicated .22LR AR 15 shorty upper build. Hopefully they will stay together under .22LR recoil.

If you want a T1 clone that is a step up from Airsofty,
Bushnell makes a decent T1 Micro clone for about $ 200,
which is designed for REAL recoil, with a REAL Bushnell Canadian warranty.

Of course,
YPMMV
but if you bolt Airsofty stuff to your REAL guns,
remember to always wear eye protection.

We have a policy at CGN that, all dealers who sell look-alike mounts must permanently marked their products so that they wont' be sold as real in the second hand market, such as our own EE.

For example, one of the dealers, ki11ercrane, on this board, agree to punch mark all the look-alike mounts in the base to help less experience buyers to distinguish them from the real ones.

Here's an interesting video on youtube about the differences between a real aimpoint and a clone, and how to tell which is which.

I all most did the same thing with arms mounts. I had a buyer on the bored try and sell me some mounts so I went to tims for a coffee and to meet him. I looked and the said to be real arms mounts. They looked real right to the markings A.R.M.S on the lever when I put them in my hand they seemed really light so I grabed my spring punch out of my tool box and told him if there real they wont dent. I punched a dent allmost 1/3 the way through. I would say there 70% aluminium to make a dent like that. I told him there fake and I dont want them he got mad and stormed off peeling his tires spitting rocks at me.. I have not seen his account sence

Sounds like the real A.R.M.S. mounts to me.

Now, I'd buy the A.R.M.S. mount regardless, break it if it's not broken yet, and trade it in for a LaRue mount.

I've never liked the genuine ARMS throw levers ... had them loosen up and not be adjustable.

I shudder to think what the cloned ARMS mounts are like.

Granted Norinco firearms are not marketed as Colt items but you can be darn sure Norinco is not paying Colt a licencing fee for those rifles. Which makes them a cheap knock-off of uncertain quality.

That this thread exists on a board which includes an entire section devoted to cheap chinese knock-offs is the definition of irony.

In reality we only hate the cheap knock-offs when it suits us. However when we can get a screaming deal on a pirated copy of an AR15 then we love those same knock-offs.

Kettle, this is Pot ...... BLACK .. over!

Except we know a Norinco is a Norinco - the other accessories are often sold as a Trijicon or Larue or KAC etc, and are fake. That is the real issue here is buyer's getting scammed.

You make a very, very obvious point about the Norinco aspect of this, but people know they are buying a Norinco. They don't know sometimes they are buying a Fakepoint or Fakeotech etc until they get it.

I don't buy Norinco myself, I prefer items that are made in North America when possible.
