Apologies fellas. I was at work when I posted and didn't give a bit of insight. To stick with the topic, here's my initial opinion out-of-the-box. I still have yet to spend range time with it - I may even go on Good Friday to try it out. Anyway, my scope is the Leupold Mark 4 M1 4.5-14x50mm clone. $90cad shipped back in february 2015. Arrived in march. At first glance, it feels solid. No different from the other scopes I've seen at gun stores. Right off the bat though, there are some very, very minor scratches to the finish here and there. I notice it, but it doesn't really bother me to be honest - maybe if I spent $1000 it will probably bother me. The parallax, diopter, and magnification knobs were stiff at first. They are still stiff now, but not as stiff when I took the scope out of the box. Both the windage and elevation turrets have a slight problem. The clicks going one way is pretty accurate. So the lines line up per click. However, going the other way, there's a bit of play. So, if I were to click 1 turn, I'd have to click back because the turret is telling me I've clicked twice. But it doesn't exponentially grow - you just have to turn back 1 to line up the lines properly. It's not really a big deal when you see it in-person. As for optics, well I've looked through a demo Zeiss scope at Al Flaherty's and it was pretty good. I believe it was a 3-9x40 scope. I'd say the optics of this clone is not up to par. It's not tack sharp, lacks a bit of contrast and colour vibrancy. I dare say it has chromatic aberrations - but I could be dreaming. However, can you see the target downrange? Yup. Is the view nice and big? Yup. Is it bright? For me it is. So far, I've only been able to bore sight this scope at 30 yards with my chinese bore sighter, and the only real problem I'm having is that the Talley scope mounts (yup that US made product) is not properly aligned with the receiver. So the scope is sitting slightly sideways in relation to the bore. Not sure how this will translate at 100m, but I'll keep you guys posted.
