shorter, and denser in the fall.
all depends what you like.
Now what fur are you talking about! It's 'bear ' here!the_big_mike said:no way man the furr is definately better in the fall.
the_big_mike said:fall bear fur is better!
grouseman said:nope, not even close,
fall bears have rub marks and thin spots where the hair rubs together......such as arm pits....also bugs reak havoc on their hides on top of that, they stink more
spring bears are fresh out of the winter den and have extremly fluffy and soft fur and clean hides,
think of it in the way of a deers winter fur vs its summer fur....
grouseman said:spring bear: had to borrow it from the hunting photo section, but this shows how fluffy and full there hides is, if I could find the pic of DW and his first bear that he shot with a 710, you could really see the diff( if you see this put it up DW)

fall bear: see the difference? not fluffy, almost looks thin.... and its extremly short

hey, by all means shoot a bear in the fall if you want, but don't kid your self, a spring bear hide is wayyyyyyy more fluffy, full, long and clean.........
