I know many of the stags thanks to trail cams prior to the rut, not all of course but thru hunting it religiously 2 weeks prior to the peak rut an generally only a week or so in the rut, as it makes it alot easier when they are vocal like that, an are generally busted up in the tips due to fighting.
We dont need tags like you guys, not for most species anyway, but a Deer hunting permit is a must, which allows you to go anywhere within State forest / Crown land an shoot as many deer as you feel fit for 1 or 3 years, We are real lucky in Victoria.
I think he will have good potential to grow to somethin decent for the area if he can get 2 more heads under his belt, i noticed a few bucks will need a year or two, although its not a bad thing as i generally help a mate or two out an get them nice stags.
