How easy it is to get an restricted ACR to NR? in term of paper work.
5 minutes with a certified firearms verifier. It's a single page form after he inspects the rifle. Then you wait 3-6 weeks for the CFO to take it off the registry.
it only cost around 600 to 1000$ , add that to the 2500-3000$ at the start
bushmaster have 0 support for that rifle no conversion kit from the factory , all have to be custom if you want one , XCR is way better for that wolverine will take care of anything if needed, xcr is a all metal construction , it use any ar15 grip , you can swap the one form the acr ...
Wrong.
Parts can be ordered through Gravel Agency, wait time is a little long but you will get them.
I had a custom match grade stainless barrel made in 300 Blackout for my ACR for $500 which is cheaper than an XCR conversion.
If you buy a used ACR for around $2000 you can have a barrel made for $500 then take it to a firearms verifier yourself and be non restricted for $2500-$2600 or you can send your used rifle to Ian at Herron Arms and he'll do all the work for $800-$900.
All metal? So what? Polymer is not a negative when it comes to firearms construction. Ever heard of HK or Glock?
The best thing about the XCR is Wolverine Supplies, other than that I haven't been impressed with any of the ones I've shot other than the good ergo's which are very similar to the ACR.
Change the grip? Why? Nothing wrong with the grip on the ACR. Sure it would be nice but it's just an MOE grip which many people buy and put on their AR's and XCR's anyway.
All of the accuracy videos and photos ive seen of the Famae 540 have been VERY disappointing considering the price of the gun. Unless you need a new .223 this year, id personally wait and see what happens with the ATR Modern Varminter. Cause if they offer that gun starting around $2500, the market will be a-wash in used XCR's and ACR's for much cheaper than they are now.
I've spent a couple afternoons with a couple MH rifles and I wouldn't spend the money on one now. They have issues that still need to be worked out. Both rifles wouldn't feed soft point ammo reliably which is kinda important on a rifle labled as a hunter. They did feed polymer tip and FMJ reliably though. Both rifles had issues with primer flow into the firing pin hole and one was piercing primers regularly and that was after it had been back to ATRS for a recall. They also won't feed from gen 3 pmags which is pretty crappy since gen 2 308 pmags are pretty hard to find these days. The side charging handle also doesn't lock forward securely and the charge handle floats around during shooting which leaves it somewhere in the middle most times after last shot lock back. I've messaged Rick about this and hopefully future rifles will be corrected.
The MH is a beautiful rifle but it isn't perfect and definitely should have gone through more testing before being released to the public.
AR 15 does not come in 308?
A few different 223 semi autos on the market that can shoot under 1MOA, HK SL8, swiss arms, and the ACR just to name a few that I have done it with.
I think he was referring to AR-10
You should remove the Swiss Arms from your one moa group unless you specify which model you had. I know it wasn't a black special or classic green you had/have, for the price of your Swiss Arms it had better shoot well. The classic green target (flat top) model I had was not a 1 moa rifle. It was a beautifully built rifle with an incredibly smooth and reliable action but it was not a one moa rifle. I do wish I had tried some handloads in it though before selling it. My biggest complaint with it was the 5 moa shift when going from bipod to supporting it just in front of the magazine. If it wasn't for that I would probably still own it.
