so, not to long ago, i lent my new Stoeger x5 to my brother, who wanted too shoot out the woods near our house. while he was out, he had the brilliant idea to try and shoot some sticks down through the gun, and one got stuck. instead of coming home, and clearing it with proper tools, he tried to clear it by pushing more sticks down the barrel. this resulted in a mess that prevents me from pushing the stick causing the blockage, and makes it impossible to shoot. i'v poured some gun oil down the bore, in hopes of lubricating the blockage so it can move, but i doubt it will work.
does anyone have any suggestions?
 
You could try lye or sulfuric acid down the barrel...they both dissolve organic compound.

Obviously both are caustic and will burn flesh too, so be careful.

this might sound stupid but will it damage the bore? either way, i'm cleaning it out as soon as it finishes.
 
Run mechanics wire down the barrel past the obstruction, it may scratch the barrel but thats the price you pay ;). You can polish the end if it makes you feel better. Take the wire from the muzzle end and fold it over the muzzle, or wrap it around the front site so it stays put. Hold the other end of the wire loosely and roll the barrel a couple times. If you can get one wrap around the sticks it'll help to pull em out.

If you can't fit the wire down the barrel try something thinner, like a guitar string.

I don't know if it'll work, I've never tried it. I'm just thinking what I'd try if I had to.

i'm going to go with lye, it's less likely to damage the bore. only thing that's a t risk for that is the rubber hand guard, and it's only cosmetic then.
 
With tree corers (to age trees), when they get gummed up (very similar) a relatively easy method is to put the tube in the oven and heat it up (obviously not so hot you affect the temper) and the steel expands, allowing the material inside to be removed.

I have also slowly burned wood out of these things as well....soaking them, in anything (never tried acid but personally I wouldn't, YMMV), usually does little.
 
Get a brass rod and a 2x4 .put the barrel in a padded vice and drive it out from the muzzle end. Even better is when someone dry fires a springer while cocked and bends the barrel upwards on a 45 degree angle when it slams closed.We "had" a Stevens crackshot in .25 rimfire that an idiot uncle borrowed, then got a cleaning rag stuck in it then decided to shoot it out.Bulged barrel F'D gun..........good luck........lye will eat the seal.........Harold
 
Sounds like your brother bought a Stoeger X5... And you bought a NEW ONE with that money...

If I had to pick someone to correct on matters airgun, it definitely wouldn't be Harold..... Just a tip.
The plunger seal is generally made out of leather (I believe at any rate), and that is what Harold is talking about. And last time I checked, leather is organic......
 
My bad didn't notice the air gun section. Anyways buy him a red Ryder and say marry x mas happy birthday. Stay away from my chit.
 
Go get a "air craft" drill bit they are about 12" long if necessary and it won't reach take it to a welder or machine shop and have them add a piece of rod until you can make a pass threw with the bit then its just a mater of carefully pushing and cleaning till it's all gone, good luck.
