Hello
i was just wondering is it ok to shoot the gun with no choke installed? like leaveing the threads bare? or should you always have a tube installed to protect them?
take it easy. thats why i said it was a fast question. i got my answer the first responce. no wonder so many young people are intimidated to join the sport when you have abunch of know it alls who dont wanna even help you out they just wanna poke fun.
as i said before i never had a choke system in a shotgun before. all mine came with is a tactical choke. thats why i put my question here.
should we not ask questions anymore?. i was seeking help not criticism.
but thank you to the people who helped with the answer.

Not common around our hunting guns for sure but they do make them normally to be used primarily in Law Enforcement apparently better performance with buckshot , etc.I didn't know there was such a thing as a "tactical" choke (not directed at you OP)
Is it pretty much a cylinder bore? (maybe with spikes or something else tacticool)

Has nothing to do with know it alls or intimidation. Has to do with such a basic question how could it be missed in the Firearms training. If it was did you take the time to read the manual for you gun and if you don't have one I suggest you get one. Guns are nothing to screw with no pun intended and the boys answered your question as nicely as they could considering how basic it was to someone that has guns don't care what type they are. To me like asking if I can drive my truck with no rims and tires on it but I have a drivers licence. That is why you got some of the feedback you did. Yes indeed it is always nice to see new members and young people getting into the shooting sports however we assume they have been properly trained prior to owning a firearm also. take care
thats typical know it all.^^^^^
i would lock this thread since i got my answer after the first two posts.
