HI guys,

I'm just curious what people are shooting. I used to shoot the Winchester 115gr FMJ, recently I found out that the 124gr BEB (WinClean) performs better, re recoil and accuracy, so I'm switching to that.

List the PF too - I get 141PF out of the 124gr WinClean out of my Tanfoglio L

i got 4k of 147gr winclean left...I got PF of 145 w/ a Glock17. After that i will start reloading or try something lighter. A PF of 130-135 would be preferred.
 
really? I found the WinClean to be crap in my USP..the muzzle flash is really big and bright and obscures the sites for a fast follow up shot. I use American Eagle 124gr. They seem to work good. Use to use American Eagle 147gr. but had a couple of squib loads. I found the Remington 115 and 124s to be both filthy and poor performing in my USP.

Reloads I occasionaly use Franks stuff, but had 5 ftf last match. 124g/ 1125fps.

I have found the win clean muzzle flash to be not an issue in pistols other than my USP...
 
I like the 147 in my glock but... frontier is out of them:( . Then I went to the 124? gr now they're out:( . Now I'm down to the 115 gr.:( . I just prefer the lower MV of the larger bullets.
 
The glock is super accurate with the winclean ammo. It is just alittle hot. The ammo isn't much more expensive than reloading. Cost me 9 bucks or so a box. I will try some 124gr soon.
 
Last season I was using Winchester 124gr and American Eagle 124gr in my CZ 75B. Had alot of jams with factory ammo for some reason.

This year I switched to Combat Masters 147gr.

Unfortuantely, I don't have PFs...can't remember the old ones and haven't chronied the new stuff. I haven't noticed much of a difference in recoil but the best part is that I haven't had any jams!!!

Almost through the 1000 that I purchased and I will be buying some more.
 
My favourite factory load by far is Winchester Silvertip 115gr (when you can find it).

Otherwise it is my handloads with 124gr Frontiers.
 
I was using win 147gr and also winclean. Winclean was more consistant with PF, at around 144 pf out of my USP, left a grey cement residue in my pistol, and shot out a cool blue flame. The other 147gr Win was a bit hotter, and inconsistant with a wider SD. Sometimes 143-149+ pf.
I switched to Combat masters 124gr ammunition. Very reliable and although it still has some snap, it is not as hot as factory 124gr winchester.
 
^ yeah you notice the muzzle flash was pretty bright? I would estimate maybe about a 6-8inch diameter flash..all blue... Cooked the area around the slide abit..easy to clean..but a pain on follow ups..

what sort of fps on the combat masters stuff?
 
It is at least 137pf out of my NEW USP, I should have tested it out of my old one. I also used a different Chrony than the CED I tested the 147gr. Feels better, not much more muzzle flip. the slide still appears to be moving fast, as with some other weaker loads I could actually see my slide moving (ie: appeared to be in slow motion)
 
lol yeah..

how many rounds through the barrel before you noticed any decent fps loss? BTW, have you ever figured out a way to get squibs out without a drill? The couple ive had I and a couple of smiths couldnt shift with rods, hammers or any other hand held stuff... took a drill.. So either I get a back up gun?> lol..or I carry a drill to matches..
 
You mean you had a squib with factory ammo?? I had one squib with some ammo my friends helped me make last year and it popped out with a metal cleaning rod. Took a few good taps.
 
yeah...2 squibs with American Eagle in the 147. No way in hell you couldve gotten in out with a rod...a hammer or a block..on both occasions 2 gunsmiths and countless others gave up and after bout 30mins went to the drill... suprised as with my .45 you can almost shake them out..

For me I find the Winclean to be less accurate than regular Winchester White Box in my Glock... I used to shoot nothing but Winclean 124. Accuracy was good. I switched to Win White Box 124 a while ago as Lebarons was out of Winclean. Accuracy has gone up dramatically since the switch. My power factor at Barrie was 138.04.
