Table Fare:
1. Moose is at the top of the list as it is very consistent in flavour, no matter what region of the country the harvest takes place.
2. Pronghorn has an excellent flavour. Rather delicate but still distinct from any of the other game species. I hear guys complain but that is usually because the carcass has the "Manyberries Marinade" of too much heat, dust, and time in the back of a truck.
3. Elk and prairie/grain-fed whitetail are very similar to me. I won't pass up a mountain or norther bush buck but they taste very different from the farmland whitetails.
Hunting:
1. I love hunting Pronghorn. I always enjoyed spot and stalk hunting but doing it on flat ground or with limited topography is a blast.
2. Whitetails are always a fun hunt, whether it is the mountains, foothills, boreal, prairies, or desert.
3. Small game like grouse and rabbits has always been an enjoyable hunt. Great memories from my own childhood chasing ruffies and snowshoes to when my son was little and following along beside me on the hunts and watching him begin carrying his own rifle or shotgun.
