What's your favorite ballistic app? Looking for a good one to put on my phone. I got a free version of Strelok not sure if its any good but thought I'd try it.

Cheers!!

I like MD Ballistics. It's a little pricey, but the range training, selection of reticles, and selection of factory loads is worth it. I use it more often to train for range estimation than doping.

AB Mobile and Ballistic AE both work well.

If you're using an MOA scope, make sure you confirm whether its True MOA or Shooter MOA (IPHY - Inch Per Hundred Yards). Many MOA scopes are really IPHY. It makes a BIG difference and is probably the #1 reason why some people's app never matches their real life trajectory.

Ex: if you want to put on 40 MOA for 1000 yards:

SMOA (IPHY): 40 x 1" x 10 = 400"
TMOA: 40 x 1.047" x 10 = 418.8"

18.8" is pretty far off. The 0.047" seems small... until you multiply it 400x

Thanks for this. I was unaware...learned something new.

How does one find out if the scope they are using is SMOA or TMOA? I have all NF NXS and ATACR scopes.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that NF are TMOA. If you want to test it, do a tall target test at 100 yards. Shoot a group, dial up 40 MOA and see how much the group moves. If it moves 40", its SMOA. If it moves 41.9", its TMOA.

What a waste of bandwidth that is?! Start downloading some .22lr on iphone and then - you can even have an App that makes the phone waterproof!

[edit] On second thought - it waterproofs it all - not just the phone ! [edit]
