Favorite forgotten cartridges making a comeback

How about the .455 Webley?

I keep thinking I want to build a single-shot rook rifle in .455... one of these days I'll get to it.

Not making a come back but the 35Newton would be a fine thumper. I have 20 rounds but strangely no rifle to go with them.
It was Factory loaded 250gr. bullet at 2975fps.

Russ...

My favs are similar to OP 's choices in medium bores:
.358win BLR for brush busting. Usually stick with NP 225gr bullets (FB) due to COAL/powder limitations.
.35 whelen Rem700 for the real 'long bombers'. Kidding of course just like using the 35's.

Since OP mentioned .358w I like plinking with Speer 220gr FN over H4895. Sort of a warm/hot 35Rem load. Pleasant & accurate.

How far didja dare?
The first was 50 feet or so, the second about 75 yards, Handloads both. The first at 900fps, the second the following year at 1350fps. Took me a while to get an accurate high velocity load in that rifle. I'm not remembering what bullet I used, but I think the first was cast from a Lyman mould
The second was either a Winchester bulk bullet, or a resized Hornady 44Mag bullet. i run them through a Lee .427 sizing die with a bit of bullet lube, otherwise they won't chamber.

I took a small black bear with the Hornady at about 25 yards too. Small = about 150lbs

Got my Mule Deer buck this year with 'Lil Mulita' my 1935 Pervuvian Mauser Carbine ( pic's got skipped as it wasn't a show'er). The old 7.65 x 53 cartridge killed it DRT at about 170 yds trotting away at an angle.
Waters figured it as a tad bigger than a 308 and a tad smaller than a 30-06. Nice to shoot too.
Just a forgotten cartridge. Or perhaps the original forgotten cartridge; is there an older bottlenecked rimless one anyhow?

Yes, the Patrone 88 (7.9x57) predates the 7.65x54, but it is very possible that the commission that designed it was looking over Rubin's shoulder making notes.

Picked up my dream whitetail rifle in a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 257 Roberts. Had it about a month. Starting to pick up ammo (Found some Hornady Superformance locally and online) and still looking for cases for reloading.
