Favorite forgotten cartridges making a comeback

I currently shoot a 257Roberts and a 358Win. A few gunnutz might like these old chamberings here on CGN and elsewhere on the interweb, but I don't think that gets them "comeback" status.

When I see gunmakers offering these again and ammo at CDN Tire, it's a comeback.

They might not achieve "comeback " status, but they are two very fine cartridges.
Mine are keepers...

Not hunting per se but anyting that allows the steady use of antique pistols to stick it to the antis and their retarded Firearms Act. Go .41 Long Colt or even .32 Long Rimfire!

9.3x62 (Wagner) is enjoying it's well earned 2'nd honeymoon hereabouts in CGN land.
And deservedly so.

It, and 6.5x55 take care of everything I've ever wanted to do with a rifle.

There are so many fun cals. out there to play with, but as a handloader, these two would be the last that i'd ever give up.

come back for the 9.3x62 was in the 60s ... now it s the rising of the 9.3x62 .. especially wit new powders and bullets.

better than ever.

Ok, I know its stretching it a bit, sometimes quite a bit, to say some of these cartridges are making a comeback. Case in point - the .350 Remington Magnum. As far as I know no one is making these pre rolled. But with respect to the .358 Winchester, I was able to buy five boxes of Hornady cartridges at one of the site sponsors. So I think it fits the comeback moniker. Maybe no rifles are being made right now but at least there's factory ammo.

And some cartridges in my mind were not forgotten but just under appreciated like the 6.5x55mm Swedish. Maybe underutilized here in NA but still much used in Europe. Rifles are still manufactured in this chamber.

250-3000 aka 250 Savage. Still is a better choice as a dual purpose cartridge than a .243 or 6 mm because of it's ability to shoot heavier bullets.

Yup - one of the best light chamberings. I really like your rifle too.

I like the 8x63 Swedish. What's not to like?

Gotta say these last couple years with the M98 Husqvarna 9.3x57 "potato thrower" have been most entertaining.
Imagine ... a 10 pin bowling ball going just slightly faster than the naked eye can follow ....
With this new 286 grain NOE mold, will soon be knocking over imaginary Mastedon's for next-to-free. :)

I push 250's at around 2200 - 2300 fps...slightly faster than the naked eye can follow?
Get a 38-55 moving at about 1/2 that speed, now you can see it...except for the BP smoke that is...

We gunnutz are an odd bunch. Seems we like to make things more complicated.

Pretty much every gun on the list so far could be replaced with a 30/06 or 243 and the owner would want for nothing.

Except style, coolness and class. :p

Mine are keepers too .... I sold a LOT of guns this year in preparation for 14 weeks post-op time off.

For BG rifles, I'm down to a 257R, 7/08, 308Win, 358Win & 375CT. I could easy live with just the 257 & 358, no problem.
