Hi, just wondering if you have a favorite lever action rifle and calibre and why you prefer it to the others? I have always liked lever action rifles . I like how they look and feel. Do you prefer the big 45-70 marlin cause of the more powerful cartrige? Do you like the winchester 30-30 cause it is a clasic ? How about pistol calibre rifles like .357 rossi m92 or 44 cal marlin?
Myself, I started with a browning bl22 leveraction in .22 cal. I shot more gophers with that rifle than with anything else combined. I also ended up with a small .357 carbine lever action from rossi. I wanted a very small carbine .
Many of the classic lever action rifles were chambered in pistol calibres to accept the same ammo as their sidearm pistol. These varied from .45 colt to 44/40 . Made carrying ammo easier along with easier supply.
Also curious if anyone resently makes a lever action rifle in a 44/40 calibre?
