Favorite rifle to carry that you own....

My fav is my SKS-D with folding stock. Powerful enuff to down a deer. Accurate enuff for whatever I may come across. Lightweight. And I don't care if I scratch it up!

Favorite rifle

Since new in 1998, my S/S Remington 700 7m/m Rem mag has collected a dozen Whitelails and couple Mulies from BC to Ontario. Big deer just come and lay down when I enter the woods with this rifle LOL.

Here it is a little rough and should never have been D&Td ,but it comes up quick and is fun to use.

Underneath is a Marlin 27S in 25-20

Ok, now consider me jealous, mate.
I love both.
I own a BSA Martini Cadet that was sporterised: restocked with a custom home-made sort of laminate stock and rebarreled to 25-20 .
It has a steel-tube Weaver K6 on it and is diabolical on bunnies.
A year or so back I picked up a pre-WW1 Belgian Martini rook rifle barrelled receiver in 32-20.
The action is rare as rocking horse poo and I've also got another barrelled receiver of the same type in 297/230 so even if I found parts the 297/230 would be rebuilt first as it still has its extractor and trigger and is in much better shape.
The 32-20 bbl is octagonal and I couldn't bear seeing it go to waste so I'll be getting it bead blasted and polished.
The thread will be cut off and it will be re-threaded, re-reamed to 32-20 and the rear of the chamber cut ready to be fitted to another BSA Cadet action I have.
The bore is not much chop but it wasn't meant for jacketed pills anyway and if I find it shooting "minute of elephant" with standard 32-20 lead pills I'll simply get a mould made one or 2 thou bigger which should clear up a lot of accuracy issues.
Anyhow, at the end I should end up with a pair like yours, except of course that they'll be single shots and the scope will be on the opposite cal.
If you want to see pics let me know.

The last four years I have been carrying a 270WSM in model 70. Of course it has been altered somewhat. Super light stock now makes it just over 5 lbs.. The caliber has never failed me and is now my favorite.

Although it is a WSM Jack O'Connor proved that a 270 it quite capable through out North America. It boils down to what a person feels comfortable with. Once you are in that comfort zone, confidence takes over.

Totaly hopeless I am, as hopeless and as pathetic as win94 when it comes to keeping a "favorite" rifle!:p
My latest is a tikka 412S that I aquired through a trade for another "favorite" from hithere.

Two sets of barrels, 12 guage with 28 guage tubes, and a set of 9.3X74R rifle barrels , sporting a 4X IOR Valada( my addition) on quick release mounts
I think there may be something wrong however, as the 9.3X74R barrels do not kick near as hard as people have said the would!

Bottom is "minute of popcan" at 50yards, and the top one is set for about 3" high at 100.

Both barrels group well offhand.
Cat

I always have my old 99 Savage in 250 3000 under the seat with me. Small enuff for the small gopher and rabbit size stuff and big enuff for anything bigger up to a whitetail.

Bearcat

Day in and day out carry I would choose my Win 94 in 44 mag. Nice and light, easy to shoulder, even on the prairie, I'm happy to shoot a deer out to 100 yards or so. Open sights are up to taking a grouse on a log. Even in bear country I'm comfortable with it along.
