Favourite 308 rifles?

The Original Poster gives us no idea what he is looking for!

Hunting, my old style Model 7 with the fiberglass stock weighing under 6 pounds is my favorite .308.

Bench, it's my PGW Coyote and my H-S Precision HTR 2000, both in .308.

That’s a beauty 👌

I’ve got 6 of them. 2 favorites are my FTR rifle with Barnard action and Robertson stock, and a Anschutz sporter which I like a lot and will keep forever for personal reasons.

Honestly; it it wasn’t for my target class requiring a .308 I wouldn’t have any except the Anschutz.

I briefly owned a Browning Highwall that was a great little rifle, but my favorites are Sportco and Musgrave .
I never have hunted with a 308 however, and the other two are single shot bolt action target rifles.

Looking for a pistol grip 308 hunting rifle, saw Sig cross (too expensive), marverick and bcl (both heavy), wonder if there are other choices

Pic any platform that MDT supports and add an action to one of their chassis.

Fan of the .308 Win ctg here.... My first centerfire rifle was in it, a Rem 700.

Currently have Rem 700 Varmint x 2; Savage M10 LE HB; a Browning Abolt composite stalker; a Tikka 595 and a vintage Savage 99 all in .308 Win.

Model 70 Featherweight, T/C Encore. Probably a Blaser K95 if I ever get that kind of scratch. :D.

I had a Model Seven but I found that the 18.5” barrel was a bit too much in my face, and the barrel a bit whippy. Also the three hole mount left me with more limited options at the time. So I sold it and got the FWT. The 22” featherweight ameliorated those predilections while retaining a bit of the light and handy.

It would be fun to build a 20-24” MRA Maverick with a match grade barrel.

Agree about the sporting usage of AR-10s. Already restricted, mag restrictions. The useless ban should be struck down.

My favorite 308 of all time was my MAS 36 sporter with 18 inch barrel. A customer has it now but I would buy it back.

In production rifles the M77 had wonderful compact options in 308.

Browning BLR my friend, the best of all worlds, Lever action but magazine fed with a wide variety of compatible calibers
