Favourite 308 rifles?

Depends what you want to do. I have 308's in Rem 40X, a couple of 700's, a PH 1200TX, a Rem 600 scout rifle, an FN L1A1, a M14, probably a couple others I've forgotten. I mostly shoot the target oriented rifles these days, banging steel out to 1 km is a lot of fun. Easy to load for, easy to find ammo for if you don't load. It's a good choice for hunting big game as well. Even varminting with light bullets. You need to narrow down what you want it for. - dan

Barnard P, HHE Millennium, Paramount, Witchita, Armtech, Musgrave, FN L1A1. 6 out of the 7 are single shot targets rifles and all are iron sights only.

M14 and L1A1. Both Prohibs now.
For plinking, the Savage Axis. I do nto know how good it would be for hunting (accuracy, reliability, strength of construction etc), but I am happy enough with it for range shooting out to 100 or 200 meters.

I have just one, a general purpose Rem 7600 cut down to 18.6". It's a general purpose carbine that hopefully will not be stolen by the commies.

STAG-10 hands down. Not as nice as an SR-25 but still awesome. Very sad I didn't buy more receiver sets when I had the chance. What sort of shooting are you looking to do? That would definitely help get more relevant advice.

Had a pain in the neck Parker Hale was my best shooter if I still had it I’d make it into a 1000yd gun. BLR is great truck gun. Youth or compact with a shorter stock is good for canoe hunting, I always ware a life jacket! If I was heading to the store today it would be a Hawa super light. https://www.howausa.com/howa-super-lite/ I’ll even let you keep it at my place;).

I am pretty fond of my model 7 in 308 win. Great gun to pack around all day and perfect for calling moose or hunting whitetails.

Looking for a pistol grip 308 hunting rifle, saw Sig cross (too expensive), marverick and bcl (both heavy), wonder if there are other choices
