WOOHOO!

Today I picked up a Lee Enfield No1 MKIII Low Mount Sniper!

Congratulations Rich...... !!!!!!

What a beauty.......

Whatever you do, DO NOT tell ~Angel~, or she'll be nagging you to death daily ......... :D :D :D

Regards,
Badger

BTW: that scallop is actually because the stock was made from a blank made for the MkIII (no star) rifle of 1915 and earlier fame. It's where the volley sight would be inletted. Manufacturer's used these up in production before switching to unscallopped fore-ends. It's a transitional part, not a modified grip.

My Mosin Collection!

The Hungarian one(first pic) I just got today, thanks Cam! It's a 52 Hungarian.
The '47 Izzy(bottom gun, 1st pic) was from Wolverine, back in November, but I don't think I've posted pics before. The other, in the reciever shot is my 1915 westinghouse...

Before the night is thru there may be a Polish one to go with these...

MORE MOSINS!!!

Ok, so a pole didnt follow me home but a Finn did. And so did an M95/?. I got a bargain on these, I think. That's about all I know, if anyone can tell me more, please do! I also got 2 boxes of 1938 swastikaed 8x56 ammo! woot! Now I just need to find some to shoot:D

Well, the rifle isn't a February purchase but the completed project is. I put together this ZF41 rig on a Ce 44 K98. The scope/mount are original and in excellent condition. The base is a repro adaptor that goes in place of the original sight base, no permanent mods needed. Zeroing this rig is gonna be the interesting part...

Very nice Steve.......... :)

Is the Ce44 K98 all original, or a post war rework?

Regards,
Badger

It is all matching except the bolt which matches itself. No duffle cut. Could be a bringback but who knows... I was lucky to get it off another CGN mauserphile who was kind enough to part with it...

Thanks guys, it was a long project in the making. I have been looking for a Zf41 scope/mount combo for a long time but they were always overpriced. I managed to find one on Egun for not too bad of a price so I nabbed it. The base adaptor was off Ebay from some guy in Italy knocking off repros. Expensive project but it will be the closest I come to the real deal as I will never be able to afford/justify an original one at $3K+....

It is real screwy. In the objective lens drum, there are two holes which adjust the lens. One hole moves the lens from bottom left to top right, the other hole from bottom right to top left. Very awkward but it can be done. Here is a site that explains it with pics (translated from Japanese):
http://translate.google.com/transla...arch?q=zf41+&start=10&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&sa=N

There is also an elevation adjustment knob that is marked from 1-800m

:p You deciphered this?? :D

Spring tension it caught inside the rail which is made to slide to the mount base
There is a roller, loses the abnormal play attachment. When outside (opposite side) from seeing, big
The plate which stops with the minus thread is visible, but it meaning that that is that spring it does.

It adjusts the top and bottom, turning the dial which the groove which is visible with the photograph is cut.
Under of that has become the graduation, the graduation to 100 - 800 m detailed click being attached,
It is. Between numerical value of the graduation at unequal interval, in other words, trajectory was calculated ballistic
It has become the table. If it is the military ammunition of that time, it just adjusts to the graduation
It is thought the impact it does in the distance.

This way being to be simple it does, the top and bottom adjustment, but Wien day left and right the G adjustment masters difficulty.
First, is not possible alone. I did, being the one person, but it was half-day work. (Laughing
The one person looks the scope, while keeping aiming, the supporter adjusts the scope.
