Female friendly beginner pistol?

Right, it's common to see young teenagers shooting them effortlessly at the range I frequent.

You can't go wrong with a Glock 17 (9mm) or even a Glock 22 (40S&W). A Walther P22 or similar pistol in 22LR is better suited for small pre-teen - teen children. Women prefer to feel the recoil.

Take her to a rental range and have her handle and shoot as wide a variety of firearms as possible. Then let her decide.

Does anybody know where I could find a rental range in Ontario ?

I won't comment on what gun to use, but just for safety's sake do the basics first, and Load only one round for the first couple of times. There is the "gee, thats not so bad" syndrome while turning to face you with the semi-auto in hand and a full mag.
It can happen.
