Fg42 ?

From what I've herd only 50 have been made, total. 20 of which are available for export. Im not sure how many BD44's where made. But I'm guesing quite a few more considering the price difference.

It would have been better not having it available, because at least then there was still HOPE AND DREAMS.

The price crushes all that under the heeled jackboots of German overengineering and ridiculous cost.

What a depressing post.

The price is a mere obstacle, if you really want it that bad Im sure theres a body part(s) you dont need.

I too was hoping it would go for much much cheaper, but I find its more exciting rather that depressing that its actually here. This is Canada, we always complain we dont get as much cool stuff as the yanks, and when we do get all the cool stuff we dont want to pay too much.
 
And just for ####s and giggles, how much did it cost to make one of these back in the days of the great war?

I think a Sten costed 3.50$

The only depressing thing is we have firearms laws in this country that were created by retards . It's look beautifull, like all things when someone wants something bad enough price is not an option
 
I really don't understand how this thing is 3x the cost.

I don't see how parts and labour account for the huge markup over their other items. It's somewhat more complicated than the Stg-44, but not 9000$ more. I mean, bombed out factories 60 years ago made these things, is it a lost science to start it again?

Given the cost of the tooling to make the pressings, and the setup to make the machined parts, you would think that it would make sense to manufacture enough of these to get a bit of economy of scale. Once you are setup to actually manufacture - as opposed to handmake - something, you might as well make enough of them to justify the effort.

Production cost during WW2 is irrelevant.
 
So $9000 per rifle at 50 rifles produced. I wonder how much it would drop the unit price to produce 500? Surely they could sell that many the world over?

I honestly cannot blame Marstar for deciding not to bring these in despite being the SSD dealer.

My thoughts exactly.

Of course, we really have no idea about what the circumstances are inside the SSD shop. Perhaps they simply cannot commit to manufacturing more than a token quantity.

The market would be limited, I imagine. There is much more of a market for non-firing replicas, which are easy to own legally even in more strict countries, and which are prohibited in Canada of course.

Even if they made most parts by hand, would they use even $5000.00 in parts and labor costs?
