Field painted C7/C8s

Yes, whatever DS had on hand, the outdoor pic and indoor pic are of the same paint job, funny how different they look…I still use that SF light, KAC QD and PRI gas buster…only reason I sold that setup was to get a KAC 11.5"

ETA: Still have some of the paint, it is the AERVO brand, Field Drab and Forest green.

Plug the barrel. remove the gutts, bolt and drag it around the backyard, into gravel, sand etc...

Its like making rat rods... Sanding parts wont get the look. No cares given...
 
Heres mine, I acquired a few pieces that came by "the look" legitimately through a past life so I felt I had to make the rest match as best I could, a can of Khaki krylon did the trick for me. Its a lot rougher looking in person.

I remember the comments when I painted it, WHY...3000$ and a 5$ paint job.

Paint it and then just use it. Will end up like that in matter of months. Built it in 2005, Seen many hands and that was the last time I seen it, TV Press Pass had it in 2013. Still looking like as he called it, Gun Fighter AR.

So funny to me, this rifle must be the village bike; EVERYBODY gets a ride...

Almost bought it from a guy in Vic... asking crazy money for a bent gas tube/loose gas key/fairly worn/gun... but hey! I didn't buy it so no loss.

Good looking gun tho!

Must been the guy I sold it to. I know I sold it to a guy in BC. Then TV press pass bought it/sold it. I know the last owner was in AB, I tried to buy it back. I didn't build it to look pretty. I put like HARD 5K thru it. Yeah that YHM gas block made it easy to twist the gas block. Wouldn't go with that style again.

painting your rifle and trying to make it appear that it just came back from Military Service in the Sandbox will devalue your rifle ; and it may even draw a few smirks and chuckles from other firearm users at the range for trying to appear like an operator......it would be to your advantage to leave the rifle in stock form ......it will hold its' value better.....
