Colt 1911 for urban warfare

Short bbl 44 mag for wilderness fighting of dangerous creatures that lurk :D

Heh, no.

For urban warfare you bring LVLIII+ Armor, a carbine with holosights, a QD suppressor, lots of full magazines and many grenades. Oh and friends, lots and lots of friends kitted out in a similar fashion.

For self defense a good 1911 frame where the predators are bipedal, yes. I also agree with you about a bigger gun for the four legged predators too. But I would go with ~ 4"bbl.

Out of my stable, my first choice for me would be my Sig 220 followed by a Para 1911 then a Glock 21. I can shoot the Sig as well as my 1911 but I chose the Sig because of its slightly shorter barrel, lighter weight and it's a little easier/faster to field strip than a 1911. The Glock would have been on the list but I find the grip a little too slippery and a Hogue/Pachmayr wrap makes it a tad too large.

1911 45 ACP is THE gun. PERIOD. I'd take a loaded Springfield gov't model, or my customized Colt Combat Commander.
