Well, patience is a virtue and it paid off handsomely. A local fellow called me up yesterday asking if I was interested in his late brother's rifle. I had seen it quite a few years ago when his brother owned it and was taken by the beauty of it. It's a classic M1903 Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 6.5x54MS, with the full stock and dual set triggers. One of the things that got me on seeing it again was the beautiful hand done stock. Interesting note, the brother did all this work himself and he only had one hand:eek: The rifle is not original, it has been restocked and it must have been reblued at some point in the restoration, but the job was done to a "T". Beautiful walnut, skip-line checkering, cheekpiece and Niedner style grip cap. Classic flip up sights, one for 100 metres, the other for 200. Along with this is a vintage Lyman, swing away peep. I am a happy guy!:D
Pics when I can.

Don't hate me Dale, but it came with almost 160 rounds of Norma, RWS and Dominion ammo, along with dies and shellholders...
Stepped in feces...and I smell like a rose.:D

Chris I loaded up some Norma brass with 160 grain Sierra round nose and the first 2 shots grouped 5/8 C/C then for the hell of it I took one of my vintage Dominion 160 gr round nose and it shot to the same point of aim as my hand loads!!! opened the group to 1". Chris congrats on your haul, now you just need the Zephyr to go along with it!! The race begins, regards Dale:wave:

All you M1903 owners....SILENCE! *weeping* (I sold mine and don't need to be reminded about them, that and the two M1908s).

At least one of the good guys got it. BTW, there is a gun stock outfit in the states that sells a replica stock of the original.

I've viewed their website some time back, but have yet to try anything from them. Seems like they fill the void of most of the European styles that all the others don't.

was just looking at there stocks, pretty wood for springfields krags ross's and m-s. then i started reading a reviews, seems to a be a lot more bad then good.....
