Finally decided on a Glock 17 Gen 4 now...

I think that a Glock would have to come defective from the factory for there to be anything to be concerned over customer service about, warranty wise.

The gubbins make a match lock look complicated.

The things are probably even Bubba-Proof ;)

I'm too actually in the market to buy my first restricted and I am looking at getting a Gen4 G17. I've looked at a bunch of 17's now but have yet to come across any other then black. I am really interested in picking up a FDE or Tan G17 however not one store has yet bring them in.

Does anyone know if this is an importer problem or do stores actually think all we want is black. (sorry to hijack the thread that not my intention)

ArmsEast has a stack of FDE, but I think they're Gen 3. For G17 not much difference unless you need interchangeable back straps.

if you care more about value than anything else, I would suggest buy out of EE. you will find some really good stuff there.

I have made up my mind and am getting a glock 17 gen 4 but wow are there price variations around. Ellwood is cheaper then most but I here great unsavoury things about customer service. Where would you folks purchase and what is the better price right now on one. Going to place my order Saturday afternoon. Leaning towards Wolverine but they command a higher price then most even with the coupon.

There are no good deals posted on EE, but it's like a yard sale, just haggle. Some guys get pissed off when you try, but most of them realize they're asking full new retail price for a used gun. I've found some great deals and never paid what the guy was asking.

Late to thread but I'm jumping in because reasons.

Glocks, if you *must* enjoy them, probably have some sort of redeeming features.

However, Ellwood Epps has never given me any sort of good service. I'm in BC but I"ve emailed them about some guns (a Marlin) that I wanted to buy. The email I got back could be described as terse, dismissive, and distracted.

I also wrote to Wolverine Supplies and I received personal attention from their stock manager who described the status of their inventory, what they were expecting to bring in, that he could order me anything I wanted, that he would personally look through each Marlin and find the best one, that he appreciated my business and (since I would have to wait for my gun to come in) would send it without shipping if I was willing to wait. I was very impressed and intend to give Wolverine more business.

It's hard to find that kind of customer service from a gun store. I'm telling you this in case you feel like I do and way to reward one store over another for good service.

I would definitely purchase any firearm and especially a Glock from any reputable dealer that gave me the best price. And also did not offend me with bad customer service or has any reputation for such.

Wolverine is a stellar business and knows how to treat customers, but unless the price was right I would buy where the deal was better.

Ya I guess we should say the asking price is rarely a good deal unless they have a reason they need to get rid of it quick, but like someone else said if you put in the time watching and being quick you can find something.
