After Lab Rats in Ottawa released my FN FAL I purchased through Epps in January 2014. I even received the paperwork today from the province.
Its now in the capable hands of Canada Post. It left Epps on the 16th and went to Mississauga, on the 17th its listed as In Transit, then the tracking of the package ends. It was scheduled to arrive today but wasn't in the cards.
I think the gun is cursed. I wonder if it now looks like it did when it went to Ottawa.
How long does it take to come from Orillia to Moncton?

Should be about 4-5 days, a day to Gateway (no it's not that far, but it depends on when it gets there), a day getting to Moncton, and a day at Gateway and the Moncton PO (one day total, but again it depends on when it arrives). Add a day just because. Accounting for the holiday in Ontario I'd guess Thursday/Friday. Saturday and Sunday don't count even though it may have been on the road...limit your expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Happy to hear it's on the way though!

Maybe its enjoying the new found freedom to roam the countryside!
Seriously, here's hoping it finds its way home quickly and in pristine condition.

Congrats!

I'm still waiting/hoping for the RPD I bought in January 2014. Frustrating lab is frustrating.

Hate to jinx you, but I lost 2 GUNS from Mississauga sort.

Hope it's insured.

Well don't you have bad Karma...79 transactions on the EE, and a few where I didn't get feedback. Only one problem in the form of some damage, and the Can Post made good with the insurance.

Hope they were insured. I see you have more transactions...people love to poke at the post office, but I'd venture one of the couriers is far worse.

Well lucky you. Still waiting for my 12.3 VZ58 I bought in July 2013 from EPPS. The lab finished it in November 2016 but it needs modifications to bring it up to their standard.

Did you have to weld the upper and lower together? I talked to a guy and that was one of the stipulation that he had to do to his before they would lease it. He ended up chopping the receiver in two and parting the rifle out.

My guns were sent direct from the lab to the local rcmpolice. After all, it took years and I forgot about them.

Still no movement reported after leaving Mississauga.
How do I contact CP if it doesn't show up in a day or two?
The site is complicated for my limited computer skills.

I'd give it till Friday, regardless of what others will tell you stuff doesn't get lost very often. In transit means it's on the wagon that will bring it to N.B., and that's about it. Monday was a holiday in Ontario so it likely spent the weekend at Gateway. Gateway (Mississauga) is pretty secure...no one is walking out with a package under their arm. Outside drivers back into a door and go sit in a room, and all trailers are sealed before they pull away from a dock.

Thanks Redshooter I feel a bit better knowing that information.
I bought a couple of 12-3s since I bought that FN and didn't have to go through that crap.
I forgot about the holiday that most of Canada has and we don't.
We just received two snow storms last week that has probably backed up CP.

Is it possible that the RCMP have changed their process for inspecting 12.X firearms? I ask because in December of 2016 I purchased a 12.3 VZ58. Before the transfer would be approved I was informed the rifle had to inspected by a recognized business that could perform the inspection. I asked if Epps was one of those establishments and was told "yes". The firearm was shipped to them, the firearms lab emailed detailed instructions on what should have been done and what further modification had to be done. The work was completed in a timely manner,Epps forwarded the paperwork to the lab and the wait for the registration certificate was minimal. I picked up the rifle last week with only a seven week wait. Was I lucky or has the last three years brought about the first sentence of this post?

I dont get why people uses canada post for firearms.

Ups or fedex it. Its only 30$ more, we are of a hobby that burns money and throws money down range
