Finds in the bush

The next was a fridge laying on its back in the bush in the middle of nowhere,i walked over to check it out and upon opening the door discovered a staircase going about 10 feet underground to an 8x10 room fully supported with tung and groove wood walls, floor and ceiling.Nothing else in there.Just weird.
Years later i went back into that area and the whole thing was gone.

Thats crazy.....took any pics by any chance?

Found an abandoned quad last year.

Ya that is weird do you mind telling us where this was.

Nope not at all,it was in the nonquon provincial wildlife area .This section is boardered by concession 8 on its south side, highway 12 on its west side, old simcoe on its east side and concession 10 to its north, its mostly swamp with small areas of highground throughout.
Close to the town of port perry but remote in its own right.
A very big piece of swamp land most likely about 2 miles across on its north and south sides and about 4 miles long running north and south.

Although this find was a long ways from any one of those roads,i have to think that others would have found it as well as this is public land and is quite heavily hunted on its fringes, not many venture in to deep but i am sure i was not the only one. This area gets hunted hard by deer, grouse, rabbit, turkey and waterfowl hunters.

Heres a good one that happened to my uncle.

He is a land surveyor here in Ontario. He was surveying way back in the bush, when he came across a corn field in the middle of the bush. Two things went through his mind

1. Corn. In the bush. Wonder whats growing underneath it

2. Owner never mentioned anything about it

So, expecting to take a few more steps and find some "illegal green stuff" growing in, he encountered an old man.

The old guy followed him around for a bit, had a nice, pleasent conversation with him. My uncle never saw anything except corn growing their. They talked for over an hour about this and that.

Then the old guy interrupted and looked at my uncle and said

"Are you the Christ Child?"

We have found the normal garbage everywhere and a few weird items. A few cars way-way out in the bush with trees that had to be over 30 years old around them. No roads to speak of. Found bottles and some old tools, an old settler cabin caved in (going back with metal detector this year. Son found the weirdest item. A Toyota 22R motor about 8 feet down the embankment where spring rains and a beaver washed away a trail in the bush. 5 miles or so back so don't know how it got there. It was removed as there was no trans or frame. Reasonably intact too, even had dist. cap.
We have been 70 km off the main road and still find garbage. Taught my son right though. NONE of it will ever be ours.

I found this mid sixties truck at my father hunt camp that was brought in by rail about 30years ago and used as an ATV until a few years ago when the tranny was removed/stolen. There is probably about half a dozen other vehicles around which were driveable until someone relieved them of their valuable parts.

I stumbled upon the grisly remains of a Catalina amphibious bomber crashed into a hillside near Tofino, Vancouver Island. Graffiti scratched into it went all the way back to the 1940s.

wow! i know the area well ur right WAY over hunted but thats amazing!!

I found 2 belts of blank .223 ammo in the sand piles on Hwy 21 past Ipperwash.

Numerous knives and hatches/axes. Never any sheds. Bottles, cans, pots and pans, an old cast tub and sink. Cars and trucks, animal bones, christmas decorations, suitcases with clothes and stuff in them. A wallet with about $300 cash in it, ID was from 1988, tried to reach the person but they were dead. Tires, garbage (lots of garbage) an old cell phone from the 80's, barbie dolls, a broken down ATV that had a sign on it that said "My trail cam is watching you. I will be back with hours to claim this. If I see someone stole it I WILL FIND YOU!"

One thing I will never forget, the remains of a human skeleton laying at the base of a tree with a bullet exit hole in the top of the skull and an OLD rusted to hell 9mm (I think) HG lying in the debris with the skeleton. It appeared to have been there a very long time. I didn't hang around to investigate further.

Thats awesome, that area is the only place i've gotten out hunting so far and have found alot of old car remains but never anything like this. Would be real neat though, and your right about the way over hunted part. I'm going to venture deeper into the area next time i'm out.

I was camping on crown a few years ago. fairly far out in the bush, not easily accessilbe. Well apparently its a popular place cause I found a make shift crapper built between 2 trees using some old plywood and 2x4s. Their was even a ziploc with a couple of old british #### mags in it.
