Bought a 1941 VKT M91 off the EE. I knew it was counterbored but check out the bulge in the barrel.

Wow, thats a bulge. Did you know about it before you bought it like that.
I'd talk to the seller and send it back to him.
I'd talk to the seller and send it back to him.
Theres a big difference between a bulge and being counter bored... I'd ask insist he take it back, I know I wouldn't want to buy a gun like that.
I emailed the seller and he said he did yell me.it was counterbored. I knew right away things would not progress well lol. I emailed him asking if he'd be interested in refunding some of my money, but haven't received a reply.
If the counterbore extends past the bulge you are good to shoot it. If he won't take it back a few guys including me are always looking for parts. Might make a good vkt dragoon.
I paid $275 plus shipping. I wouldn't think too many people will likely be interested in paying that for parts.
Me personally for $275 I'd keep it if it shoots alright.
It really does shoot well. I can't argue that. So for $275 plus shipping I didn't get screwed too bad?
Most vkts and fin mosin in general seem to go for lots more then that.
