Finnish M28/30 or M39 are there any in Canada?

They are around, just most people are keeping them in there safes, or selling them for what I consider to be ridiculous prices. A M39 will likely run you 400-900$ in the current market. A M28/30 are definitely less common than the M39s, likely around the same amount cost wise but I have only seen one for sale so I can't give you a accurate price range.

Back in the day Century brought in both, so they are around. I bought one of the 28/30s, still miss it after selling it about 20 years ago.

Nice to know there's some in the country. It's hard to stomach the cost of the importation process.

I saw your ad which restarted this quest for a shooter Finnish built mosin. That's also why I'm interested in the M28/30 or M39 because of the improved sights. Your M28 has tempted me but I'm more interested in shooting than collecting and shooting a M28 that escaped upgrade with the tags still on it would be a travesty.

The quest begins.

M39's were imported into Canada in small lots over the years. Very few M28 and M28/30 were imported and most by private Imports at a very high cost.

Some of the Finn Mosins are built on pre-1898 receivers and actually qualify for antique status in the US. If you can find one of those, and if the seller is willing, they don't require a US export. The Canadian import side is actually pretty straight forward. I've never done it with a Mosin but have with other antiques and it was fairly painless.

I used to have an M27 with the popsicle stick reinforcing, sold it to a member on here in a time of need. Now doing much better, and I deeply regret parting with that gun. I'd offer to buy it back but I can't even remember who I sold it to!

I have one of those and I keep thinking about selling it, but I'm scared of seller's remorse.

Scarce in US? There are tons of M39s in US right now for sale by major dealers. I would even call it m39 market flooding. Importing is possible but makes no financial sense at all.

A batch came in in 2005 when I got mine, M39, yes it's in the safe, and not going anywhere :). M28/30 there are some, don't have one :(, $$$$$.

Actually, these Finn Mosin-Nagants M-39 have been in the USA for years. Burns Brothers cornered the market and bought about 13,000 from different Importers many years ago. They have have marketed and sold on an individual basis by Pat Burns for many years now. They now have recently sold large lots to large resalers like Classic Arms and SOG recently.
