Firearm transfer time

Called the Fed 1-800 number, the transfer is with the province. Note on file that a letter has been sent to me from CFO requiring proof of membership. A phone call to me would have been just as easy... I will fax the proof this evening! Hoops, hoops and more hoops.

Oh man, they love writing letters. The first transfer is the worst, but once you have your ATT it's fairly quick.

When I transferred my pistol they sent me a letter saying that I should expect to receive another letter. Gov't job creation at its finest!

I got a letter saying the transfer was complete and they would be sending me an official letter soon... the next day I got that letter. I laughed.

Forgot to mention get them to email or fax the approval then email or fax that to wolverine and they should ship immediately.

It's not just québécois that need range memberships for restricted.

I will politely call tomorrow and confirm they received my fax, and ask them to send me confirmation.

Thanks!

Essentially its 1 hour if you are very lucky to 1 month if you are very unlucky, and anywhere in between. [...]

Never any consistency either.. Family member was waiting for their 92FS ages ago and in that time I bought a S&W and a GSG and got them both before them. They were livid haha.

Personally, had transfers take 3 hours to 2 months.. Private sales seemed to go a bit quicker than in store.

Soooo can anyone explain this? I faxed off the proof of membership yesterday to provincial CFO office n Edmonton. This morning I call the Edmonton number for CFO to confirm they received my fax. I get a girl in Ottawa who blames the Ottawa snow storm for lack of staff and nothing being entered........transfer still on hold. Ughhhh

Oh and it's a balmy 9 degrees in Edmonton so there office is definitely open.
