Fireclean for your pistols and revolvers?

Wondering if people can give me some feedback on fireclean.

I have been doing a bit of reading and it sounds like pretty good stuff.

I'm wondering the same. Would love to hear reviews on Fireclean too. Kinda expensive for a small bottle.
From their website pics, they make removing carbon from ARs look like a breeze! True?

I've been on the same bottle for a year. Apply one drop with a brush in very thin layers. Degrease before first use. Carbon wipes off.

You can get Fireclean from OST and North Trail Sports.

Here's my 2cents worth on Fireclean after using it for a a season.

Pros:
- Fireclean does make clean up a bit easier after a day shooting.
- Bio-degradable and non-toxic
- No pungent fumes
- Does not dry out as quickly as Froglube

Cons:
- Eventually dries out but takes almost 2x as long compared to Froglube
- When it does dry out, it leaves a slightly tacky residue similar to Froglube (similar to FL, adding a drop of fresh lube will remedy it)
- While it does help with removing carbon, some built up carbon still require scraping off
- Expensive $19/2oz
- The lubes seems to migrate easily ie if you leave it on your rifle stored vertically, it will migrate to the low point on the object it is on. Froglube tends to stay put.

Thanks man, I have large supply of froglube on hand but heard about the drying out and figured that fireclean would remedy the issue. But perhaps I just need to exhaust all of my froglube first.

How long does froglube take to dry out? I've had the initial coat on my m&p for 6 months and it's still fine?

If FC is migrating, you are using too much. Apply a single drop and spread with a brush. Less is more. A single bottle should last a very long time.

I use it on my CZ 75B. I cleaned the gun for the first time last night after my black badge course. Cleaned up very well. I'm happy with it so far but haven't used it for very long.

Those are a different animal. Fireclean can't prevent the black rings from forming.

seems like everyone is always looking for snake oil to make the clean up faster. It doesn't take that long to clean a handgun anyways, (and I hate cleaning) . For the cost savings might as well just stick to Hoppe's #9 or mix up a batch of ed's red. Then take the money saved and buy another box of ammo.
