Fireclean

If you can't find any, I should have a brand new unopened bottle still. I paid $17 plus tax.

I'm weening myself off Froglube and Fireclean and going back to some good smelly petroleum product this season that won't dry up and get gummy like those two.

wow i did not know that. it worked great on my AR but that is great info for guns that I don't shoot often i will make sure to run some petroleum based lube on those to prevent rust

hey can someone tell me where I can get some FIRECLEAN and how much it is. Thanks

Bought mine at my local gun store and also a CGN sponsor (CRAFM). Cost me $18 for the bottle and it's my preferred gun oil. I use it on all my pistols and AR15. It doesn't smell nor turns into a goo like Frog Lube. The way I apply FireClean is: I squirt a few drop on a q-tip apply on rails, barrel, barrel hood, bushing etc. This way I eliminate any waste of product because it's not cheap. It also works well in cold weather. Give it a try, it's good stuff.

Let your Fireclean gun sit in your safe for 3-4wks unused and let me know how that works out for you. Either the Fireclean will migrate or get tacky, similar to FL, just takes double the time. :p

It never happened to me honestly. Sometime I'll pick up a pistol to do some dry fire and I never felt that tacky feeling. It wasn't the case with Frog Lube.

It's Canola Oil. As long as you know that, fill your boots.

The US Navy used Canola oil (back then called Rapeseed oil) from Canada to lube it's big guns during WWII. Nothing wrong with using non petroleum based lubricants. As long as you (and Antoine22) are aware that all organic based lubes will become rancid eventually through oxidation.

That explains why my old FL oil cloth smells like garbage.

Gun forums... The only place where the "What's the best oil" debate can be argued more so than on a motorcycle forum...

For my bike I use MOTUL 5100
For my AR I use whatever I have lying around or received for free at some shooting match...

Hell. .. Maybe I'll try some MOTUL 5100 on the AR...!

It's a well known truth that MOTUL can't hold a candle to AMSOIL

:nest:

OP do not listen to these clowns saying it's Canola Oil, for it is not. The guy who did this grade school analysis is missing a lot of information for him to stake his claim, along with the fact that he is not a chemist. FIREClean is the best CLP I've ever used to date, it's unreal for high round count guns (10000+). For all the guys saying take your gun out 4 months later and see what happens. My MK18 hasn't been cleaned and lubed in over 5 months from shooting and it's still slick.

Do not use canola oil on your gun. There are some very tough customers using FIREClean overseas. The results speak for themselves despite what vuurwappen idiot posts on his ####ty little blog.
