Fireclean

Let your Fireclean gun sit in your safe for 3-4wks unused and let me know how that works out for you. Either the Fireclean will migrate or get tacky, similar to FL, just takes double the time. :p

yeah Exactly I used this stuff and it reacts with any residual oil even in the slightest amount. I find these products have failed miserably. If you are shooting extreme amounts of ammo it might have its benefits but as a whole it sucks, the fact you have to use Froglubes own degreaser says it all, something is seriously wrong with these products. Stick to oil in theory it sounded like it was going to be great but the reality shows the opposite.

Bought mine at my local gun store and also a CGN sponsor (CRAFM). Cost me $18 for the bottle and it's my preferred gun oil. I use it on all my pistols and AR15. It doesn't smell nor turns into a goo like Frog Lube. The way I apply FireClean is: I squirt a few drop on a q-tip apply on rails, barrel, barrel hood, bushing etc. This way I eliminate any waste of product because it's not cheap. It also works well in cold weather. Give it a try, it's good stuff.

Thank you for answering my question.

I can remember Fire clean reps giving the stuff away at the FNH 3-Gun match... I think I managed to snag two bottles.
'Seems to work, but so does all the other free lube I've ever been given

I use the synthetic Amsoil that's drained from my motorcycle. I have at least a dozen litre bottles kicking around(with low mileage) if anyone wants one….

dont know why people are unable to see that "civilian" lubricant companies like Mobil, lubriplate, Magnalube etc have put untold Millions of dollars into research and development of their greases/oils. Too many guys buying into the latest greatest snakeoil, from some guys garage workshop that ends up being bogus, eg, militec/froglube.
I challenge anyone to show any "firearms lube" company that has a fraction of the researchers/scientists/chem engineers that the civie companies do.

Yup, you make a great point.

When I see a gun company with an R&D department that can compete with that of...oh, let's say...Shell...then maybe I'll spend ten bucks an ounce for gun oil.

Until then, I think I'll use stuff developed for gun-ish applications by companies that have multi-million-dollar research labs at their disposal and literally dozens, if not hundreds, of actual tribologists on staff, and experience in supplying lube for equipment like drilling equipment in salt mines.

Which I am pretty sure that, for example, Fireclean does not have.
