As someone else said try it before you buy one. I shot a Walther at the range I belong to . a P 99 or something of that nature. I hated it . you can never go wrong with a CZ 85 or SP 01. they just shoot so nice and the grip is as near perfect as you can get. or a Glock 17 or Glock 35.
For my first 9mm i got a CZ85 Combat. LOVE it!
You can't go wrong with a classic like the BHP! My first 9mm was also a BHP (1967 "T"-series). One of my Never Sell HG's……..I went with a BHP. Cz would be next choice. These have great feel and handling inherent to its design. IMHO better than any polimer set up.
I think you need to decide if you prefer steel over polymer, striker fired or hammer etc before you start trying to narrow it down to a specific gun.
this is true..... I still prefer steel and hammer fired, but I am old...
If you like cz you can go with a IWI jericho also, same design .
How about a Glock 17?
Wow, thanks for the terrific and in-depth feedback and thoughts everyone. What a terrific forum. Lots of food for thought, but I'll post an update when I pick my piece!
Parts are everywhere yes, proven for law enforcement, meh, buy something that fits your hand, and you can hit with. I wouldn't worry about what the cops carry.I have a glock 34 with a .22 conversion kit (to save on ammo for practice). Lots of glocks out there, parts are no problem, shoots well, proven for law enforcement.
For my first 9mm i got a CZ85 Combat. LOVE it! Wanted a B H-P but a bit to pricy for my first.
