First 9mm

The Heckler & Koch website is a good place to start. Us friendly folks on the HKPRO site will steer you in the right direction.

Glock 17 or CZ SP01 Shadow, can't go wrong IMHO.

Ah, just drink the kool-aid and get a Glock. If it were me though - I would not go that route, I would get a CZ75 of sorts.

Cz-75, 1911.

Anything not chambered in Browning 9mm long. ;)

Norinco NP29 1911 9mm shoots fine & good price. I've put 500 rounds through it with not a hiccup. You can buy a good used one foe 300 bucks.

I'd say either one of the S&W M&P pistols or the Tanfoglio Force line. I don't own either one now but I've owned both previously and they were excellent, reliable and faily easy on the wallet.

I'd figure out what your budget is that you want to spend, that will narrow down what you will be able to buy in your price range.

I'm... I'm so confused...

So.... we DO all know that the op asked the question 5 years ago right? And... well... it's just that...

...ah never mind. Carry on. I'm out.

Well thanks for digging up this old thread as it is giving me plenty of information in my own upcoming decision. I have held a few now and like the IWI Jericho...but not really happy with the ease of racking it....Liking the CZ's and some Sig's. So many choices and want to save as much as possible but want a firearm to last as long as possible.........back to research now lol

eventhough you have many good suggestions I would suggest you go down to your local gun range and shoot/try all the popular models suggested here.

You cannot buy a pistol simply based on what people suggest. You have to shoot it to see if you make a good team :)

I'm a shooting instructor and I offer this kind of service here at my local gun range but I doubt you'll fly 6 hrs just to come try a few guns :):)
