First ar15 build qcb

So its just the lower ill have to wait for the att for? Cause ill get that last then So u can build the full upper first get all that done then be tossibg on the lower will be easy. Now i just gotta figure out the rest of these parts alg v3 forend daniel defense bcg and vlotr upper alg trigger group and magpul stock and grip. That leaves me the lower gas block am I missing anything? And also lower and gas block and barrel opinions?

magpul is really not the best, there are better stocks and grips out there like bcm, vltor, troy, etc.

Yeah thats good to know but i like how no one really answered my question of all the parts I need lol but yes I wanna look at all options thanks for giving me those brands to look at for stocks im trying to keep price in mind with this build what im having the most trouble finding is a barrel thats not 500 600 bucks....lbesides that I think I got most of it figured out. Like I said thus is a winter project built over months im probably gonna post in here for help as well if I change my mind on certain partz and whqt people think.

The voltr stocks are nice but way more than The magpul and for what im gonna use it for plinking and maybe 3 gun when im all set for it The voltr stocks are just not in this guys budget

Yes, the lower is the firearm and the registered part that you will require an RPAL (& ATT depending on your province) for.

For the upper, you will need:

- Upper receiver. If you get the Vltor, you're set. If it's a stripped upper and not a slickside, you will need an upper receiver parts kit.
- One barrel. Did you decide on a barrel length? GP has ER Shaw 10.3" barrels on sale for $159. SGW has Aero 10.5" for $220.
- One handguard. Some handguards come with proprietary barrel nut. Some use the standard barrel nut and may not include one in the package.
- One muzzle device ie comp, brake or thread protector to fit the threads on your barrel. Assuming you are getting a 223, it'll be 1/2x28TPI
- One crush washer or shim pack for your muzzle device
- One low profile gas block to match the barrel. Most will be 0.750" unless you buy a lightweight barrel etc. You can get a basic Aero, Troy or BCM for around $40-50. An adjustable gas block like the Syrac is not a bad thing to have on an SBR to help fine tune it.
- One gas tube based on the barrel's gas length.
- One Bolt Carrier Group (BCG)
- One charging handle
- Optics ie glass or back-up iron sights (BUIS)

Tools that you will need or might need:
- One sturdy workbench and vise
- One upper receiver vise block. The Magpul BEV Block is great tool that works on both upper/lower receivers.
- One torque wrench
- Depending on the barrel nut used, possibly an armorer's wrench. If it's one that uses a proprietary barrel nut, they will include the special wrench head that has a 3/8" socket for your torque wrench.

Thanks Im doing a 300 blackout out so ill need the 7.62 /30 muzzle device correct.Barrel length Im looking at 10.5"

So far the build is

Alg Ergonomic Modular Rail (EMR) V3 M-LOK 10"
Magpul CTR® Carbine Stock Mil-Spec
Magpul MOE-K2+™ Grip – AR15/M4
Vlotr MUR: Modular Upper Receiver
Daniel Defense Bolt carrier Group
Alg trigger
Alg Milspec lower parts kit
Aero Stripped lower

Im not sure what I want to run as a muzzle device. I don't want a muzzle break and piss people of or a compensator unless its reasonable for people to deal with the noise. Optics and irons will be last im just looking at the gun itself for now then ill get irons and see what I think id like most on the platform. Now I just gotta figure out a barrel gas system and buffer tube and I think im good???

Here's my home built 300BLK upper. Runs like a champ.

- Rainier Arms upper
- Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II rail
- Daniel Defense 10.3" 300BLK 1:8 barrel
- Troy Industries low profile gas block
- Spikes Tactical Melonite gas tube
- Daniel Defense BCG
- Griffin Armament M4SD comp

Lower is running a JP Tuned buffer spring and Spike's ST-T2 buffer

Ah crud. Total brain fart. Forgot you mentioned 300BLK in the first post. A 10.5" 300BLK barrel will most likely be a pistol gas system.

I hear ya with the brake. Check out the Griffin Armament QD Blast shield. If you have a compatible muzzle device, you can attach the shield to make it into a linear comp to direct the blast forward. Supposedly works with both 5.56 and 7.62. I've been meaning to pick one up from CTCS but I keep blowing my $ on other stuff.

Humm, can't find many places that have 300BLK 10"-10.5" barrels in stock. Only place that has one under $300. is SGW which I believe has free shipping over $100. If you want a $600 Noveske barrel... lol

Wolverine is the Canada distributor for Daniel Defense. You can contact them if you really want a DD barrel but it'll run you around $370.

I have a Linear convertable to keep the noise down.

I just want something that will be half decent im not looking for no 500 dollar barrel lol. But id prefer it in 10.5
Nobody said home builds will be cheap. Another word of advice is spend on a good barrel and scrimp on the accessaries because the barrel is the heart of the rifle. Add on's can be modified at your leisure after the build is completed.

So then who makes good barrels i know nothing about ar barrels or aftermarket barrels lol everything ive bought has been complete.

build yourself > money

noveske makes astounding barrels, yes they are 500$

norinco makes a 500$ar if you are interested in saving money over building quality
