First attempt with cerakote on a norc 1911.

I really like your colour combination! Also great job on the paint.

Funny, I've got the same pistol and I just painted it this weekend.

I went with black/olive combo. Should have pics up in a few days.

Black sights would look good and they would test the durability of the coating on re installation!
Did you de-horn the sharp edges or was sand blasting enough? The ejection port still looks sharp.

I only sandblasted it, it would have definitely looked better if I had "polished" it somehow before. But I live in a condo in Montreal and don't own the tools or space necessary.
 
The key to getting Cerakote to stick well is surface prep as well as degreasing. The stuff is incredibly tough just don't spray it on too thick.
Your first job looks really great.

Well done and cool colour combo. Will you post some pics after you've put some rounds through it and let us know how the cerakote held up?
