First attempt with cerakote on a norc 1911.

what do you use to sandblast?

I bought a sandblasting gun for around 60$ in an automotive part store (some are cheaper on Ebay), then I ve used some construction sand from home depot, you need something quite thin, I had to pass it thru a kitchen sieve. Sandblasting is a pain you get sand dust all over you, so you really need to protect your eyes and your nose, my right eye still hurts 4 days after, you also need a good air compressor, with a small one it will take too long @ 100 psi. I think it is worth it, the gun looks really great in real, darker than the picture. With the trigger job you could think it is a way more expensive gun.
Cheers

Hey...I see you painted the barrel. Did you do the internals as well? Have you shot this gun now? How is the finish holding up? Want me to stop asking questions?

I'm about to grab some cerakote to do my P226 and Norc. I notice the P226 barrel has quite a bit of wear on it and I don't want paint flaking off. Wear I can handle, but flaking is ugly.
