I've been applying for grizzly tags for years. Never got one...

I've hunted grizzlies a couple of times with buddies that had tags, but this will be the first time for me with a tag in the pocket.:)

Can't wait to get the Mighty .375 Ruger back from Guntech, so I can start load development for 270gr TSX bullets.;)

Hahaha Oh I love the bull that gets slung around here.

Congrats again buddy. That'll be a hunt of a lifetime for sure.

Just curious but what's the purpose of hunting grizzly? Is it just for fur or is the meat edible?
Also what's the minimum caliber that you can legally hunt with or effectively hunt grizzly with?
Thanks.

The purpose of hunting grizzly is to go grizzly hunting, and possibly kill one.

You can eat grizzly meat if you want to.

BC laws require a centerfire rifle for grizzly hunting. It's your choice which one you use.

I'd hunt grizzly with anything in the 30-06 class of cartridges (270, 280, 7RM) on up to 416 or so...

Thats good... Thanks, I'm not a hunter, but just don't see much point in feeding a bear for a month then shooting it... But actively hunting a Grizzly would probably be quite the rush..

so... if you were to play dead with a .223 you could wait until it sniffed you and put one up its nose?

Can you use your spear?

I don't think baiting bears should be illegal in BC, although I don't know how many people would do it, especially for black bears.
