First long(actually middle) range rifle?

Lots of glass options out there as these guys have mentioned. The Delta Stryker is a great value, and there is a new Athlon Ares ETR that is very highly reviewed and even cheaper than the Delta. I have an Ares BTR (which is the model below the new ETR) and I'm quite happy with it for the money.

For the $1k rifle and optic budget... that's a tight one. Remington 783 on a boxing day sale and a Falcon M18+ would be my pick. I have a Falcon S8i and Falcons are great for the money, but definitely not in the same league as the options that have been mentioned in the last few posts.

I will see what's available and what suits me first. Doesn't have to be really expensive one, I guess scopes around $1000-1500 still makes reasonable good shooting. Especially for shooter like me. Later on I may need to upgrade for sure.

Thats the rifle. One big positive if you save and get that scope you can just move it to the ai or whatever premium gun you get in the future.

As mentioned. Check the ee. Couple of nice s&bs on there for a good price. I wouldnt say they have fallen. More like they arent as far ahead of the competition as they used to be.

If you were looking at multiple rifles at once get quality qd mounts. Adm makes decent ones, as does cadex, era tac, and spuhr. Personally era and spuhr are probably my favourites

Long term you are much better off with the Tikka

99 percent likely to be more accurate out of the box.

100 percent smoother to cycle

Lots of aftermarket stocks and accessories for the Tikka

RPR needs a new trigger and barrel and its about as smooth as a gravel road. (at best)

The Tikka is very good out of the box and then upgrade is optional to make it great.

Even an upgraded RPR will garner at best a low level of enthusiasm.

The Tikka is like a decent looking girl in the bar that once you get to know her, also has a good job, shes pleasant, smart, funny and has a nice family and has had 3 boyfriends in her whole life.

The RPR looks great in the bar, but is miserable half the time, cant cook, doesn't work, and is lousy in bed and has at 21 has had 300 boyfriends.
