I'm currently putting together a little sister for my M1 also! I've got a Krieger heavy barrel and all kinds of high end parts on the way, but no way would I get into an aftermarket bolt or op rod. I figure once the bolt lugs have been lapped, I'll get similar results at a smaller cost (thing is already going to put me back $3k before optics )

How did you fit the op rod anyway? Any removing of material? I've seen Dlask's deal and considered it...

This started as a stripped receiver so I had the option to build it up with the aftermarket parts. The op rod fitting is fairly straight forward (and I'm no expert) it just requires patience as Thomas says. A small file and grease based lapping compound is all you need. The material has to come off from the bearing surface above the tab...take a little off, check, repeat.

Wow she's a real beauty! How does she shoot?
I wish I knew! Haven't had a chance to shoot yet because of school.

Wow... was that the receiver we worked on ? That's a beauty job ya did!

Cheers,
Barney
