I've had a few .22 pistols, one being a Ruger Target model, but, the piece I regret selling was my High-Standard. If you can locate a nice High-Standard on the EE forum you may want to give it a look. I'm pretty sure you would be very pleased.

Cheers,

For me, the ergonomics feel the best on the Ruger MKIII 22/45. So, I bought one a while back and have been very happy with the purchase. It eats any .22 ammo I feed it with no problems and is as accurate as I could hope for(More accurate than I am capable of shooting).

But, relative to my other hand guns, it's a tough toy to clean thoroughly. And, it seems to need cleaning more regularly than my center fire hand guns(I've always thought .22's are a filthy cartridge as they always seem to leave a lot of grit behind). When my 22/45 is dirty, you can feel all the grit crunching as you cycle the action(That's also true of my semi auto .22 rifles, too).

I can't comment on how easy or tough it is to clean up a Buckmark as I've never had to clean any of the ones I played with.

Function-wise, accuracy-wise, or both? :yingyang:

function-wise mostly. Accuracy thing is very subjective when we talk about 22 pistols. Shooting them from the bench they will probably show same accuracy, give or take, but when it comes to actual score other things come to play. Walther is decently accurate but it took me some time to get used to it. Below is one of the groups shot from 20 yards with two-handed grip, all 20 shots on the paper.
