Well, how'd I do? Picked up a 35 Whelen built on a P17 Enfield action a couple days back, supposedly put together sometime around the late 70's. Judging from the condition and the red fuzz it spent a heckuva lot more time in an old rifle case than hunting or shooting. Fairly decent piece of walnut and machine work on the action, the barrel has a nicely recessed crown and it still seems to have the military mag well as it holds six in the magazine. Seven rounds of .358 should do ok for bear defense
